Wacky Jig & Hornpipe Contest & Family Pub Night

it's BAACK!  This evening is a CeltFest classic not to be missed!

In a "no barriers" theme chosen by CeltFest summer school performers, and often in unorthodox costumes, students and instructors put on their finest--and arguably most entertaining performances of their lives!  The only criteria of the contest is to play, sing, or dance to a Jig and/or Hornpipe during their performance.  So the rest is up to their imagination! A panel of distinguished judges from all over the globe provide adjudications and deliver highly-coveted prizes! Indiviuals and groups of any size are welcome. Performances from the community are also welcome.  Please submit your entry at the CeltFest office on site at VIU's Malaspina Theatre.

Expect spontaneity and raucous laughter. Afterwards there will be a performance some of our distinguished faculty and a change to have a called Ceilidh dance!

VIU Cafeteria. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Refreshments are available for purchase.
