CeltFest Summer School 2011 runs Sunday, July 17 to Friday, July 22 with classes ending at lunch on Friday.

Day classes are typically 1-1.5 hours long and run from 8:30am to 4pm with lunch from 12:15pm - 1:30pm. The schedule is based on five classes/day: 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Sometimes, a sixth block can follow (for example: special Piping & Drumming Band Practices, rehearsals for performance, and see Trad Band note below) .  Evening classes are 1.5 to 2 hours long and offered between 4:15 and 7:15pm, Monday to Wednesday.

***ANNOUNCING CELTFEST TRAD BAND: This year, CeltFest is delighted to present a comprehensive music school featuring many disciplines, which, though, taught separately, come together during CeltFest week to form a special ensemble---TRAD BAND. This is open to all full-time students registered in Celtic Music School instrumental subjects, and will take place in Block 6 (4:00-5:00) following the day program.

Note: it is common to have extra blocks of time after the standard "day" blocks (ie. after 4:00) dedicated to Pipe Band practices, dancing choreography, choir or language, etc. These are often scheduled by instructors once they meet their students.

Full-time study

Students choose one major subject, or alternatively, one major subject and up to two minor electives. A typical day offers approximately 5 1/2 hours of instruction from 8:30am to 4pm. Full-time students who enroll in evening classes as well are entitled to two complimentary hours of their major subject and may also participate in Ceilidh dance or Celtic Song, compliments of CeltFest.

Part-time study

Part-time study is available in some subjects and with permission of instructors. Priority for class scheduling and student placement is given to full-time students. Please contact us if you are interested in part-time study.
